Montara Education (“Montara,” “we,” “us”) provides college counseling and test-preparation services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or enrolling in a program, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Enrollment information you provide: student and parent/guardian names, email addresses, phone numbers, the student’s grade level, graduation year, school, and (for test prep) target test dates.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers; we retain a record of the transaction (amount, product, status) and your contact details.
• Communications you send us (e.g., email).
• Usage data: we use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand aggregate site traffic. We do not build advertising profiles.

How we use your information

• To deliver and manage the services you enroll in (scheduling, counseling, instruction, support).
• To process payments and send receipts and service-related notifications.
• To communicate with you about your student’s program.
• To operate, secure, and improve our website and services.

Students and minors

Our services are intended to be arranged by a parent or guardian on behalf of a student, who may be a minor. We collect student information from the enrolling parent/guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, under contract and only as needed:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Supabase — secure data storage
• Brevo — transactional email delivery
• Calendly — scheduling calls
• Google / Vercel — infrastructure and hosting

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

Data retention & security

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide services and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices & rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of non-essential communications at any time. To make a request, email info@montaraeducation.com. Depending on your location (e.g., California), you may have additional rights under applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
